Why have pest Control?
" A pest
is any living organism that is considered
harmful or detrimental to humans or their
activities"
Whether you have
industrial, commercial or domestic premises,
pests can occur at any time.
The presence of pests affects people in
different ways. Some may find it a nuisance
while others will be petrified, whatever the
reaction it must be remembered that all pests
carry diseases and bacteria that can be
transmitted to man.
Disease -
Insect, rodent and birds can spread disease by
transferring the pathogens responsible for human
and animal diseases.
Damage - Rats and mice
gnawing through wires could cause a fire or
machinery and computer failure resulting in
unwanted disruptions and monetary loss. Gnawed
and contaminated goods amount to millions of
pounds of lost stock to British industry each
year.
Contamination - Rodents are incontinent,
continuously urinating. This would contaminate
work surfaces and whether it be a food
preparation surface or an office desk the risk
of disease is ever present.
Reputation -
Bad
publicity resulting from pest infestations can
seriously damage your reputation and goodwill
resulting in monetary loss.
Employees - Pests frequently cause stress
and allergies by their presence. Productivity
can drop if staff are worried about the presence
of rodents or insects.
